I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Science, Technology & Society at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Kean Birch. I am also a CORD Fellow in the Center for Organization Research and Design (CORD) at Arizona State University. My research examines both science and innovation policy and higher education policy, with a focus on capacity-building for research, skilled workforce training, and economic development. I specifically explore academic research capacity and productivity in disadvantaged regions and at Emerging Research Institutions, and how career-related postsecondary education can support personal economic and professional mobility and regional innovation ecosystems. I have extensive experience in survey research and with quantitative, qualitative, and data-science research methods.
I hold a Ph.D. in Public Policy, with a specialization in Science and Technology Policy, from the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My dissertation examined faculty research productivity in emerging research institutions (ERIs) in the United States. My work has been published in outlets including Computers & Education, Computer Science Education, the proceedings of the American Society of Engineering Education, and The Internet and Higher Education.
I am currently on the market for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Policy, Higher Education Studies, and related fields. I have a broad set of teaching interests and skills in subjects including research design, research methods, program evaluation, education policy, and state and local government, among others.
