Quintin Kreth, Ph.D.
Research Project Lead at the University of Michigan
I am currently a Research Project Lead within the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education (CSHPE) in the Marsal Family School of Education at the University of Michigan. My research agenda broadly examines the roles of higher education and public policy in the careers of individuals in scientific and technical professions. This includes diverse topics such as STEM education, career and technical education (CTE), and graduate education; the study of the computing workforce; and the study of academic researchers and leaders. My research portfolio at CSHPE currently includes studies of stackable postsecondary credentials, adult education, and associated labor-market outcomes. I have extensive experience in survey research and with quantitative, qualitative, and data-science research methods.
I hold a Ph.D. in Public Policy, with a specialization in Science and Technology Policy, from the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My dissertation examined faculty research productivity in emerging research institutions (ERIs) in the United States. My work has been published in outlets including Computers & Education, Computer Science Education, the proceedings of the American Society of Engineering Education, and The Internet and Higher Education.
I am currently on the market for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Policy, Higher Education, Organizational Leadership, and related fields. I have a broad set of teaching interests and skills in subjects including research design, research methods, program evaluation, education policy, and state and local government, among others.
